San Francisco Bay Cities Quartets Report for April 2015 – Jordan Makower
Mike Irvin started this month by teaching us, or having us relearn, Nursery Rhymes in Barbershop Style. Individual parts sang separate melodies, then merged as all four parts sang together. Several of us had sung the same song many years ago, so relearning was easy to do.
We were joined by Alan Spindel and friends of Sieg and Ruth Yoder, the McFarlands. Alan had found us on the internet, as was formerly a member of The Monterey Peninsula Chorus.
Now that we have changed our meeting days to the first and third Wednesdays of the month, and meet at lunchtimes in Harry’s Hofbrau (San Jose) from 11:30 AM to 1PM, people find it easier to come and sing with us.
